Bright Festival, the Brussels Festival of Lights, will bring some sparkle to your evenings from 16 to 19 February 2023.

For this new edition, Brussels' brightest event will illuminate three neighbourhoods: the Royal Quarter, the European Quarter and from the Lehon Quarter to Avenue Louis Bertrand in Schaerbeek. The routes will be subtly punctuated by some twenty immersive and poetic works of art. Alongside these artistic installations, the festival will feature an equally luminous fringe programme, consisting of evening events in the museums, guided tours and ephemeral installations by the event's partners. This edition also promises a magnificent spotlight, both literally and figuratively, on our region's rich Art Nouveau heritage.

    Mark your calendar!

Experience four evenings of exceptional programming.

Between illuminated works, late-night museum visits and guided tours, your impression of Brussels and its heritage will never be the same again. This discovery of the capital's streets "by night" promises to be a truly multi-sensory experience.

    PRM accessibility

In order to be accessible to as many people as possible, Bright Festival is currently collaborating with the company Access-i. This collaboration will last for 3 years and will make the different routes and activities of the festival accessible to people with reduced mobility. A test phase is starting this year with the Royal route. The entire route was taken care of and equipped with adapted access, reserved areas, carpeting, etc. You can get more info at the Info Point on Albertina Square or online on the Access-i website. There you can find everything about the accessibility of the route and prepare your visit. On-site staff will be happy to help you along the route.

Note: this year, only the Royal route is certified by Access-i. But the Schaerbeek route and the European route are also easily accessible, albeit without certification.

    Event’s carbon footprint.

Bright Festival has been an eco-responsible event for several years.

For several years, Bright Festival has been committed to reduce its environmental impact. In order to achieve this goal, the festival has set up various initiatives:

    • It chooses artists who - for the most part - use an eco-responsible approach.
    • The selected projects use lighting that is energy-efficient or produced by renewable sources.
    • The festival is easily accessible by public transport and encourages the use of alternative mobility and walking to take in the routes.

Since 2021, the Bright Festival has been financing low-carbon projects to neutralise its emissions that could not be reduced (e.g. a hydropower project and a forest protection project).

Bright, the Brussels Festival of Lights, will bring some sparkle to your evenings from 16 to 19 February 2023.
