About the artwork:
The façade of La Monnaie, Brussels' iconic opera house, becomes the backdrop for Antoine De Schuyter's audiovisual installation Inner Voices. Using images and sounds gleaned from within the opera house, the artist has designed an abstract and immersive piece revealing the DNA of the building ; that of a living organism traversed by human flows and nourished by creativity for over 300 years. The façade is transformed into an experience where voices, materials and gestures from behind the scenes emerge, offering the audience a sensory perception of La Monnaie’s microcosm.
About the artist:
A Brussels-based audiovisual artist, Antoine De Schuyter uses a combination of sounds and images to create performances, audiovisual shows and immersive installations. His work has been featured in numerous venues and festivals, both in Belgium and on the international stage, most notably through his piece Decades and his audiovisual collaborations with Kangding Ray and Le Motel.
At the same time, he is developing his own musical project with the release of the album Procession.
