In 2026, the Atomium celebrates twenty years since its renovation with an ambitious digital programme that transforms the monument through light, sound and technology. Since 2006, temporary exhibitions have continuously enriched the visit, and today more than half of the Atomium experience is dedicated to digital art installations, offering visitors new and immersive ways to discover this architectural icon.
To mark this anniversary, several large scale works invite audiences to explore the building from a fresh perspective. Nimbus by Visual System creates a monumental and immersive environment where light and sound reshape the architecture into a suspended sensory landscape. Supply Chain by Romain Tardy offers a poetic journey through the invisible infrastructures behind our digital world, combining moving light, reflections and sound. ROTONDE by Dirty Monitor gives the Atomium a new nocturnal identity, animating the rotonde each evening with rhythm and movement.
