Halle Gate
Although thousands of people pass every day close to this remaining part of the second surrounding wall of Brussels, along the "petite ceinture" between the Place Louise and the Midi Station, very few of them are conscious of its eventful history. This fairytale monument, more than 600 years old is in fact the most remarkable witness of the City's medieval past.
Open on Mondays! The Halle Gate houses now a permanent presentation dedicated to the medieval City of Brussels. Climb the Halle Gate’s 169 steps and enjoy Brussels’ most stunning panoramic view. It’s a breathtaking plunge back into the 16th century!
For families : After the museum, children can have a great time in the most beautiful outdoor playground of Brussels, located only 100 meters from the museum. Adventure assured in this castle and medieval village with accompanying sandbox.

To start this year, Constant celebrates the publication of the manual "How to Cypher Sex: A Manual for Collective Digital Self-Defense Guides". Constant supported the collective Cypher Sex in the making of this "how to" manual that will lay out strategies on how to write locally-oriented digital self-defense guides aimed at empowering LGBTQ* people, women, and sex workers. The manual is intended to help the writing of localised guides with basic outlines, resources, links, suggested approaches and interview questions relevant to different international locations that advocate self-empowerment through online identity management and other digital self-defence strategies.
Cypher Sex is a queer feminist collective aimed at empowering LGBTQ* people, women, and sex workers in their use of online services and digital tools through workshops, guides, and personalized consultancies. Constant happily invited Oddd to design this installation in the window.

At the first edition of the Musique Femmes Festival in 2023, Johanna Staruch-Smolec and Krzysztof Potocznik brought to life the first movement of a work that had long remained in the shadows: the Sonata for Violin and Piano by the Liège-based composer Henriette Van den Boorn-Coclet, which had by then been almost completely forgotten. They return this year to present a complete performance of the work, thereby continuing this endeavour to rediscover a precious musical heritage.
Jazz in the second half!
Winner of the Scène Tremplin 2025 competition, Natasha Vew will introduce the audience to the world of Toshiko Akiyoshi, a Japanese jazz pianist, composer and arranger, whose prolific international career has helped to renew the language of jazz.

Expo Welcome in Digitopia
The Brussels Platform against poverty and 8 associations worked for 2 years on digital exclusion
The world we live in is becoming increasingly digital. While digitisation offers opportunities, it also creates a series of new inequalities that are often disproportionately felt by people already living in poverty. Access to many services (culture, transport, housing, assistance...), support, and rights is shifting more and more from physical counters to digital gateways. For people with limited or no access to a computer or internet, and little to no basic digital knowledge and skills, this raises new barriers. It not only makes full participation in society more difficult, but also undermines people's independence and, consequently, their self-confidence.

Visit the Maison Hannon
A singular work of Art Nouveau, Maison Hannon is the sum of the tastes and passions of its commissioners, Édouard and Marie Hannon.
Visiting the Maison Hannon is to discover the personal home of a couple, Marie Debard and Édouard Hannon, who together with their friend, the architect Jules Brunfaut, designed an Art Nouveau masterpiece. The interior was conceived as an enclosed, dreamlike and symbolic universe.
Visiting the Maison Hannon also includes a tour of the temporary exhibition "Belgian Art Nouveau", which presents Art Nouveau in all its diversity through works from the most important Belgian collections. For more information, visit the Maison Hannon website.
Visiting the Maison Hannon also means becoming a patron of the arts. By purchasing a ticket, each visitor contributes 2 euros to the continuation of the restoration.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit, the Maison Hannon has a limited capacity. Online booking is therefore strongly recommended, but spontaneous visits are of course welcome. To book your ticket, go to the "Visit" page on the Maison Hannon website.

sesam
Born from the collaboration of five musicians hailing from the vibrant music scene of the Grand Est region, SESAM formed with a simple yet radical ambition: to unleash their original jazz-inspired sounds and blend them with the urgency of post-punk and the intensity of noise.
The collective is built on a balance of complementary strengths: Emmanuel Abdul, who switches between guitar and bass; Yacine Belmahi on bass and synth; Mathis Klaine on the Rhodes; Léo Lévêque on drums; and Marc Stehlin on trumpet and vocals.
Heirs to the most nonconformist elements of jazz and rock, the five musicians from Metz reject the well-trodden paths of prefabricated genres and styles. Discover the sound of their many wanderings—shaped by boredom, serendipity, dashed hopes, pain, wonder, determination, and an ever-growing desire for rebellion.

From darkness, visible light is the bright mind
James Turrell once remarked: “I use light as a material, but my medium is
actually perception.” This programme begins from that idea. Bringing together works for
harp and electronics across centuries and aesthetics, this concert explores music not as a
fixed object, but as an experience that comes into being through listening. Sound unfolds
in relation to memory, attention, space, and time. Resonances linger beyond their source.
Familiar gestures return altered. What we hear is shaped as much by perception as by the
notes themselves.
At the centre of the programme is Pulitzer Prize finalist Leilehua Lanzilotti’s from
darkness, visible light is the bright mind, a work inspired by James Turrell’s immersive
light environments. Like Turrell’s installations, the music invites a heightened awareness
of subtle change, where the smallest shifts in colour, texture, and resonance transform
the listener’s sense of duration and place.
Historical and contemporary voices enter into dialogue throughout the
programme. Fragments of the past are heard alongside newly created works, not as
opposites but as reflections of one another. Acoustic and electronic sounds intertwine,
revealing continuities across time and suggesting that every act of creation is also an act
of transmission.
For Artonov’s theme We Do Not Work Alone, the programme proposes a simple
thought: no artwork exists in isolation. Music emerges through a web of relationships—
between composers and performers, past and present, sound and silence, artwork and
audience. The listener is not merely a witness, but an active participant in the creation of
meaning. In this space of shared attention, perception itself becomes a form of collaboration.

ALICE RIVER BAND // New Orleans jazz
Alice River Band creates a colorful world, halfway between blues and folk. This sextet of inspired young musicians feels like a waterfall in the middle of summer. Their original compositions are carried by sparkling brass and the heartfelt performance of Alice River, a trombonist and singer whose stage presence is accompanied by delightful stories and anecdotes.
Influenced by the legacy of traditional jazz and elevated by free-flowing compositions and refreshingly fresh arrangements, the group embodies the boldness of this new generation that embraces various styles to better reinvent them! The group is planning a tour of Brittany in mid-summer 2026, before recording their debut album, scheduled for next winter.”

ÖZ SESSIONS: Simon Leleux & Bao Sissoko
The Öz Sessions are a series of musical encounters conceived by percussionist Simon Leleux, who is the recurring musician and connecting thread throughout the series. For each session, he invites an artist from the world and/or jazz scenes, based in Belgium or abroad, with a distinctive musical universe and language.
Through the doholla and his own exploration of sound, Simon enters into this universe: listening to its codes, exploring its paths and searching for possible points of connection. Two musicians meet on stage, bringing their own histories, influences and intuitions. A composed foundation opens up a space for improvisation, where each listens, responds, challenges and surprises the other.
The music takes shape in the moment, somewhere between what has been imagined beforehand and what suddenly emerges. Each Öz Session therefore becomes a creation in its own right, shaped by the guest’s personality and by the dialogue that unfolds. A genuine encounter never happens exactly the same way twice.
The audience is invited into this intimacy: to witness an exchange between two musical worlds, discover traditions and musical languages that may be unfamiliar, and experience the moments when two sensibilities draw closer, confront one another and ultimately create a new shared space.
The Turkish word öz, which can be translated as “essence,” reflects the intention behind these encounters. At the heart of the project is a desire to foster diversity, dialogue and intercultural exchange through improvisation, listening and shared musical exploration.
FIRST GUEST : BAO SISSOKO

The Forgotten
FORGOTTEN this is the opening of the 2026-2027 season, following our participation in the Musique Femmes Festival #4.
How do we move from oblivion to memory? Gleb Gladkov (violin) and Flavien Casaccio (piano) unveil their project THE FORGOTTEN: Karen Khatchatourian, Florent Schmitt, Boris Tchaikovsky, Eugène Ysaÿe -19th-and 20th-century composers, famous or fallen into oblivion.
Beautiful program
"FORGETTEN" Concert
How do we move from oblivion to remembrance?
Here is the programme for the opening concert of the 2026–2027 season of Concerts Escapades, following our participation in the Musique Femmes Festival #4.
Who is familiar with Khachaturian, Schmitt, Tchaikovsky and Ysaÿe? An Armenian, a Frenchman, Tchaikovsky – whom you think you know – and the Belgian, Eugène.
Aram Ilyich Khachaturian was from Moscow, but above all an Armenian and a composer.
Boris Alexandrovich Tchaikovsky was from Moscow, Russian, and should not be confused with the very famous Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Florent Schmitt was French.
Eugène Ysaÿe was Belgian, a violinist, born in Liège and died in Forest. He played a decisive role in the methodology of the Russian school of violin.
Four composers from the 19th and 20th centuries, some well-known and others less so.
Performed by the musical duo Gleb Gladkov (violin) and Flavien Casaccio (piano) in their new project entitled “The Forgotten”, inspired by the music of Karen Khachaturian, Florent Schmitt, Boris Tchaikovsky, Eugène Ysaÿe, and others.
We invite you to attend this wonderful and varied programme

Atelier numérique et gratuit pour enfants : AVATARS
As part of our Sunday brunch: a free workshop for kids that lets their creativity shine!
Join us on Sunday, November 8, at La Tricoterie for a workshop on creating digital avatars! Through a fun activity, learn about children’s rights and design your own character: turn your face into an avatar, customize its appearance, choose its world, and give it a voice.
If you’d like, your avatar can be featured in a large collaborative music video created with other young people as part of the Children’s and Youth Rights Festival. The video will be screened at the CUBE on November 21—a great opportunity to see your creation come to life beyond the workshop!
