Squarely Furry
Little Furry wakes up every morning and hurries to the toilet which is far too big for him. He then hurriedly tucks into his breakfast, gives his mummy a kiss, and then briskly walks to school. To school? There is nothing more uncertain, as adventure awaits him on the corner of the street.
Little Furry wakes up every morning and hurries to the toilet which is far too big for him. He then hurriedly tucks into his breakfast, gives his mummy a kiss, and then briskly walks to school. To school? There is nothing more uncertain, as adventure awaits him on the corner of the street.
This unchanging pattern, with different variations each time, is the invention of comic artist Pierre Bailly and scriptwriter Céline Fraipont, who have created a completely wordless comic book accessible to children from the age of 3.
Highly colourful, this playful exhibition invites children to climb, jump, hide and crawl, from one panel to the next, immersing themselves in a different adventure each time, just like Little Furry.

Halle Gate
Although thousands of people pass every day close to this remaining part of the second surrounding wall of Brussels, along the "petite ceinture" between the Place Louise and the Midi Station, very few of them are conscious of its eventful history. This fairytale monument, more than 600 years old is in fact the most remarkable witness of the City's medieval past.
Open on Mondays! The Halle Gate houses now a permanent presentation dedicated to the medieval City of Brussels. Climb the Halle Gate’s 169 steps and enjoy Brussels’ most stunning panoramic view. Virtual binoculars let you see the city as master painter Pieter Bruegel the Elder would have seen it. It’s a breathtaking plunge back into the 16th century!
For families : After the museum, children can have a great time in the most beautiful outdoor playground of Brussels, located only 100 meters from the museum. Adventure assured in this castle and medieval village with accompanying sandbox.

Belgian Museum of Freemasonry
Discover the history of freemasonry in Belgium in an beautiful historical setting. Permanent and temporary exhibitions, guided tours of the museum, masonic temples and the city, cultural activities, concerts and more! More info and bookings via www.mbfm.be
Although freemasonry is a community for whom discretion is of the highest concern, the Belgian museum of freemasonry wants to invite and inform visitors in a spirit of openness. The goal of the thematic and didactic approach that marks the permanent exhibition is twofold. On one hand it wants to inform the visitor about the history of freemasonry in Belgium. On the other hand it is an invitation to reflect on the human condition and one’s own life.
The permanent exhibition, located in a historic neoclassical building (Hôtel Dewez), shows a series of masonic artworks, ritual objects, books and documents dating from the 18th century to present day. These historical objects are the silent witnesses of the origins, historic evolution, the workings and ideas behind freemasonry.

Museum of Natural Sciences' visit route (NEW Living Planet)
Do you miss our dinosaurs (and special guest Arkhane!)? Haven’t had a chance to visit our new Gallery Living Planet? Rest assured, you can see them safely thanks to our new visit route! Tickets available online only!
In order to welcome our visitors in the safest way possible, we have created a unique route through the Museum.
You can choose to follow the short route or the long route. Note for people with reduced mobility and pushchair users: the long route takes several flights of stairs.
The tickets, priced at our ‘permanent exhibitions’ rate (€0-7), are available online only. We have put a capacity tracker in place in order to spread visits safely throughout the day. We would like to make you aware of the regulations created by the Conseil National de Sécurité as part of easing the COVID-19 lockdown. Access to the Museum is only possible during the time slot marked on your ticket, which you choose when booking online.
We have placed hand sanitiser dispensers throughout the visit route and our staff are equipped with gloves and masks. The automatic lockers situated on either side of the (closed) cloakroom are available and are disinfected after each use. Please wear a mask (e.g. disposable mask, fabric mask or scarf) when inside the Museum.
Guidelines to follow during your visit
In order to keep all visitors and members of staff safe, we ask that you respect the following safety measures:
•Pack light: please do not bring a packed lunch or snack (the indoor and outdoor eating areas are closed off, and you are not permitted to eat or drink during the visit). Please do not bring large bags, scooters or other bulky items (the cloakroom is closed). Prams are permitted but we do not recommend bringing them (as they cannot be dropped off in the cloakroom). The automatic lockers at the cloakroom are available and are disinfected after use.
•Family groups are limited to a maximum of 5 people.
•Social distancing of at least 1.5m between other visitors must be respected throughout the visit and our staff will be ensuring this is observed.
•Visitors with reduced mobility are asked to contact our xxx service at least one day prior to your visit so that we can prepare for your arrival. Access to elevators will be reserved for those with reduced mobility.
Individuals who does not follow these guidelines will not be allowed in the Museum.

Guided visits for schools
Similar service to that offered to the general public, but tailor made for the needs and interests of primary and secondary school students. To enhance the understanding of European history in all its complexity, the tour explores historical memories and experiences, both different and common, of the peoples of Europe and delves into how these relate to the present.
Guided visits for primary and secondary schools will be available from 28 March 2022 onwards.
Guided visits for school groups focus on certain aspects of the permanent or temporary exhibition.
Please note that guided visits and workshops can be offered in French, English, Dutch or German.
The minimum time to book in advance is four weeks for a guided visit.
Guided groups at the HEH may have no more than thirty students, depending on availability, with one chaperone required for every fifteen students.
Workshop: The guided visit for school groups is combined with a workshop based on the handling collection of the House of European History. History comes alive when we can touch it, hear it, even smell it. This is exactly what we do with our hands-on workshops. The House of European History has an extensive handling collection that we make available to your students so that they can examine and explore history through primary and secondary source material including objects, photographs, textual materials all outside of the display cases.
For further advice on making the most of your visit, please read the document "Practical information for groups".
