The Cantillon Brewery still brews authentic gueuze beer according to the principle of spontaneous fermentation. The family-run business was established in 1900. When the brewery almost went bankrupt in 1970, its owner, Van Roy, had a brilliant idea: he would transform his brewery into a living museum. Nowadays, almost every brewery in Belgium hosts open-door days. Although production is limited in comparison to the mega breweries, more than 30% of the beer brewed here is exported to countries such as Japan, the USA and Finland. Visit the Open Brewery Days to learn everything about the brewing process first-hand. Mon - Tue; Thur - Sat: 10:00 - 17:00
