Nomadic museum
The Nomadic Museum, to discover the world of books in your classroom!
If it is sometimes complicated to organize an outing to discover the artistic and cultural worlds, why not bring them to school? It is with this idea that the Wittockiana - Museum of Book Arts and Bookbinding (Woluwe-St-Pierre) proposes you to take part in the Nomadic Museum!
Through a light, adaptable and interactive device, our animator goes to classes of all horizons (primary, secondary, social promotion, higher education) to speak to them about the history of books and writing, but also about the museum world through an exceptional book heritage. In concrete terms, objects testifying to the past, precious works, a video, didactic sheets, but also a creative workshop to create a notebook based on a simple binding process from which to elaborate a collective poetic narrative! Over the course of two hours, the young people turn the pages of History from their own and learn about a variety of practices. To promote accessibility, each activity is adaptable (age, language level...) and the price of the animation is particularly low, even free.

Guided tour of the permanent exhibition of the House of European History
As we take you through the main exhibition you’ll notice that we don’t tell you the story of each European nation. Instead we want to explore how history has shaped a sense of European memory and continues to influence our lives today and in the future. As in our own lives, some things we want to remember, some things we like to forget. And of course, the same event can be interpreted from different perspectives.

The game lasts 2 ½ hours, must be pre-booked and is free of charge. Sessions are held once on Monday afternoons and twice per day from Tuesday to Sunday. Groups should consist of a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 32 students.

Recreation in town: a capital's destiny
Introduction to the history of Brussels from the Middle Ages to the present day.
This walk through the upper town gives an introduction to the history of Brussels from the Middle Ages to the present day. A quick run-through of the founding and development of Brussels during the early centuries of its existence will help to understand the difference between the upper and the lower towns. Our tour which takes in the Sablons and the royal district enables us to observe the urbanistic, architectural and socio-economic features of the upper town and to discover the periods of successive foreign influences which have left their traces here. It gives us the occasion to learn about the independence of Belgium, the organization of the new state and the influence of its first sovereigns.
