Aside from these must-see hotspots, your stay won’t be complete if you have not tasted the diversity of Brussels’ neighbourhoods. And you're in luck, because the Tootbus stops in the following neighbourhoods:

The historic city centre

Of course, the historic city centre is a must. The Grand-Place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But the whole neighbourhood is worth a visit. Among other things, you’ll find the magnificent Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries, Manneken-Pis, Belgian Beer World and cosy alleys which catapult you back to a distant past. Not to mention the neighbourhood’s countless shopping and catering addresses which beckon to you enticingly.

 Stops: Gare Centrale - Manneken-Pis

Dansaert and Sainte Catherine

This neighbourhood borders the historic city centre. Cross boulevard Anspach with the Grand-Place behind you, and you’re there. Quirky fashion boutiques, dance bars, avant-garde restaurants and other top culinary addresses are omnipresent here. Be sure to visit the Fish Market and the Grand Hospice and enjoy the terraces when the weather is nice

Stop: De Brouckère / Monnaie

Heysel (Laeken)

The Heysel is situated in the north-west of Brussels. The Atomium, the symbol of Brussels, was erected here for the 1958 World's Fair. Take the lift to the top for some breathtaking panoramic views. Mini-Europe, the Design Museum Brussels and the Planetarium are other recommendations for this district. Major fairs and concerts regularly take place in the halls of Brussels Expo. And in late April, the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken open their doors to the general public for a month.

Stop: Atomium

The European Quarter

Here you are in the heart of Europe. It’s a super diverse neighbourhood with a cosmopolitan character and a vibrant atmosphere. In addition to the European institutions, there is so much to discover: museums, trendy bars and eateries, Art Nouveau gems, green oases to relax in... Too many to list, but you'll find tons of inspiration in this range of articles about the neighbourhood!

Stops: Cinquantenaire, Luxembourg

The Royal Quarter

Here, art and history are king. Prestigious palaces and neoclassical facades flaunt themselves alongside government buildings and embassies. What makes the district a real class act are art Mecca Bozar and the numerous top museums on the Mont des Arts such as the Magritte Museum, the Coudenberg Palace, the Musical Instrument Museum and the BELvue. Relax in Brussels Park which sits regally opposite the Royal Palace.

Stops: Place Royale, Gare Centrale

The Marolles

The Marolles are known as an authentic Brussels working-class neighbourhood with a fascinating past. Today, you'll find mostly antique dealers, vintage stores, record shops, comic book walls and pleasant eateries. The daily flea market on place du Jeu de Balle is definitely not to be missed in this list! You can easily reach the district by using the lift next to the Palace of Justice.
